Marie Shannon

Marie’s fascination with Chilean copper artistry led her to merge wire weaving with sculptural techniques, creating striking and unique pieces.

Within just three years (2023) Marie was named a finalist in the Sunshine Coast Sculpture on the Edge Festival.

2024 has been an exciting year for Marie, with her sculptures showcased at Bribie Island Art Gallery. Marie was also a finalist in the SWELL Small Sculpture Art Prize and has recently been named a finalist in the Stanthorpe Art Prize. Her swift ascent in the art world highlights her profound passion and expertise in this unique medium.

Process

Residing just outside the scenic Maleny, Marie creates copper wire sculptures that aim to inspire joy through their exquisite beauty. From a studio with views of the surrounding forest and its playful wildlife, each piece is shaped by the serene and vibrant natural environment.
