Born with a passion for creating, Susan’s journey evolved from graphic design to ceramics. After 30 years as a designer, she discovered the joy of clay in a 2020 masterclass with Jane du Rand. Captivated by the material's magic, Susan interned with Du Rand, learning techniques and studio practices.

Now working from her home studio, she combines her design background with a love for nature and mark-making, creating pieces that inspire joy and connection. Susan's work reflects her dedication to craftsmanship and her belief in the transformative power of art.

"For most of my working life, I felt a level of Imposter Syndrome because I didn't go to university. Most probably born out of the fact that I was working in corporate marketing environments - but I have lived a life of lived practical learning and have a curious mind and natural eye for design, for and colour. Now I find myself in a slower, heart-led creative environment with a purpose (however esoteric) and I know I'm not an imposter at all. I was a good designer, but I am a better artist."

Susan loves to learn from exceptional, inspiring people and has found investing in workshops and short courses accessible, afforable and a powerful way to learn.
